“We have had a problem with our Ford EDGE going into limp mode while driving. Luckily it has been at low speeds so we were able to pull over and turn off vehicle. Il when this problem happens, it idles very roughly and it like it loses its mind. You cannot accelerate and a wrench pops up on the dash. When you turn off vehicle and turn it back on, it's fine.”
NHTSA complaint #10700964, filed 2015-03, 26,000 miles“I was coming home from a soccer game and just lost power I pushed on the gas pedal nothing happened. Car loses power. Ford house had to replaced throttle body and recal PCM and allok. They explained it to me air was in it so it messed computer signal up. I don't know why I would have to pay to fix this issue. Ford needs to fix. 2011 Ford EDGE has issues..updated 08/11/14”
NHTSA complaint #10588185, filed 2014-05, 54,000 miles“Vehicle lost power pulling out in traffic (so glad I didnt get hit), would not accelerate and the yellow wrench appeared on the instrument panel. Only way to correct problem was to restart engine (this happened 3 times trying to get home). The third time the service engine soon light came on and I was able to pull the codes and had a p2111 and a p2112. After looking into this issue it looks really common why would they not recall it like the Ford fusion?”
NHTSA complaint #10726602, filed 2015-06, 61,950 miles“My EDGE kept shutting down unexpectedly on different occasions but would never set of a code just tell me the awd is shutting down and would have no gas power to get off the road just hopefully I had enough speed going to coast of to the side of the road. …”
NHTSA complaint #10563551, filed 2014-02, 42,000 miles“The car accelerated while I was braking while parking on the street, this problem is reoccurring. I also constantly get a warning that my car is overheating while the bar line is on cold. I tried putting anti freeze and it doesn't help. The car also turned off at a green light when I turned on my air conditioner. Lastly I got a warning that my oil pressure is low although I just got an oil and filter change the day before. Please do a recall for these things. I have a child and it is very unwise to put him in any danger by being in this car.”
