“While sitting in stop[ and go traffic a warning is issued that the engine is overheating! I turn on the heater while driving and the notice goes off! When I approach the car the rear tailgate door opens and at times I can't lock the doors after parking the car! Some times a notice of oil pressure is low while driving!”

NHTSA complaint #11300804, filed 2020-01, 172,451 miles

“My Ford EDGE 2011 3.5 6cyl while in motion, stopped running and three new electric modules and 6 cores had been replaced and the unit still doesn't run normal and has a burning smell in the motor. Unit has been for the last 1 month at the authorized Ford dealer and now they want to charge me the catalytic. Almost +2k in bills.”

NHTSA complaint #11281701, filed 2019-11, 92,000 miles

“While driving at approx. 45 MPH, the awd off light appeared, than a wrench appeared. I could no longer accelerate and coasted over to the side of the road. I turned my car off. I restarted my car and continued driving. I am glad I wasn't on a business road and was able to get to the side of the road safely. I hope somebody doesn't have to die before they acknowledge this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10824823, filed 2016-02, 81,000 miles

“My throttle body has gone out on my EDGE causing my car to completely stall out in rush hour traffic and on the highways. I have read forums about many warranty extensions that Ford put on vehicles very similar to my own because of this issue but mine was not one of those. I'm now having to pay $800 to fix a problem that Ford created!”

NHTSA complaint #10748548, filed 2015-08, 62,000 miles

“While driving down the highway, my 2011 Ford EDGE lost all acceleration and the awd warning light came on with the lighted symbol of a wrench. I was almost rear ended by several cars before I could make it side of road. I had to shut vehicle completely down and restart. This problem continued for several more times. Ford needs to address this problem before several people get killed.”
