“Engine cut off while driving at highway speed in heavy dallas traffic. Required coming to complete stop to restart vehicle after crossing three lanes to reach shoulder of interstate. Dangerous. Daylight, mid day, clear weather conditions, had been driving 1.5 hours; mileage only 1,600. Dealer service dept ran computer diagnostics and no codes showed the problem. (numerous online forums have complained about this problem since back in 2005....very dangerous)”

NHTSA complaint #11398061, filed 2021-02, 1,600 miles

“Loss of power while driving in rush hour traffic. Couldn't maintain 40mph. Had to pull into parking lot and start walking before loss of power was driving 40 MPH on city street in 60 degree weather”

NHTSA complaint #11361895, filed 2020-09, 738 miles

“I have a 2020 Ford Edge Titanium. Only six years old. It has never been wrecked, flooded or had anything else happen to it. I learned today that it needs a completely new transmission due to a torque converter failure and comes at a cost that is higher than the car is now worth. This is unacceptable in a car this age.”

NHTSA complaint #11768374, filed 2026-10

“The transmission keeps shuddering and jerking at low speeds. I have problems driving behind school buses or any slow moving vehicle. The vehicle has a problem when merging onto highways and loses acceleration power due to jerking. I have spoken to 3 separate edge owners who all have the same problem. Some of us can't afford the repairs but these vehicles are still being sold with this known problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11723410, filed 2026-03

“EGR cooler faulty; the year this vehicle was manufactured in 2019 has an active recall with this same issue; however because my vehicle in the same year; 2019, was manufactured in a different time bracket Ford will not honor said repair. Leaving me with an extended warranty whom will not cover said repair also. $1800(+) out of pocket expense. Any insight on how one is too challenge this?”
