“The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a backfire coming from the engine. The contact stated that the engine overheated and seized. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that failure had occurred within 30 seconds. The vehicle was restarted; however, the engine seized within 30 seconds. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle was restarted, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure was not duplicated. …”
NHTSA complaint #11664801, filed 2025-06, 19,037 miles“Warning lights came on, dashboard goes dark, engine felt to shut off and then restart especially when driving on interstate highways. Possible cause of serious injury or death. Dealer has not found problem, been to dealership 4 times in 5 months, over 70 days. Car has been inspected and nothing has been found to cause the problem. No advance warnings at time of all occurrences. First occurrence was in October 2025. My opion is an electrical issue.”
