“While driving on freeway at 70mph, wrench light and check engine light came on and car suddenly slowed to 40mph. This happened twice in a week. The trouble code shows p2112. Dealer says that my VIN is not covered by the consumer satisfaction program 13n03, but I have experienced the same problem. Dealer says etb must be replaced. I will have to pay for it.”

NHTSA complaint #11115584, filed 2018-08, 140,000 miles

“When your driving ass go power is lost and a wrench light illuminates in the lower left corrner. It does not matter where im driving but it just decides to do it when it wants to. Has happened 3 times in the past month or so its happend when I was going 10mphs and 30 mphs and about 45mph...super super scary luckly no one was behind me all times... Last time this happend was on 7/23/2019”

NHTSA complaint #11235033, filed 2019-07, 130,000 miles

“Takata recall since I bought this car a lot of problems with electrics issue sensors, power steering, ignition, speeding sensors, (all electrics) the worst one is power steering. There was a recall on line for this model but not for my car. (why not my car?) there are in recall all 2008 - 2011 Ford escapes”

NHTSA complaint #11175849, filed 2019-02, 183,000 miles

“At full speed on the freeway the throttle body decided to go into limp mode and go to an idle only. I had to quickly pull to the side or I would have been hit. If I would have been in heavy traffic I would have caused an accident. The situation happened again today while waiting for a red light. It sounds like that is being investigated already.”

NHTSA complaint #10532220, filed 2013-07, 109,000 miles

“I was driving on interstate 71 in ohio when my car lost power totally, it had to be flat-bed towed to mansfield Ford where I was told there was a problem with the throttle body. This was very dangerous and frightening to me, now I am afraid to travel in this vehicle. I had to pay 474.00 to repair, which I think Ford should reimburse.”
