“Stalling out in traffic speeding up for no reason.all symptoms point to throttle body exactly what they described to me at my local dealer! But told me they will not fix it until it sets a code !!!!!!!!!!! In the mean time I am afraid I will get hurt because it has stalled in traffic . I am really concerened for my safety.”
NHTSA complaint #10823896, filed 2016-02, 109,000 miles“I was crossing a highway and when I stepped on the gas I had no power! Just a few weeks before it was at Ford for a torque and steering recall. When I called Ford to inform them what happened they said I will have to pay $130 for them to diagnose it! I'm not happy with fords response. This is a real danger and they need to take it serious!”
NHTSA complaint #10660280, filed 2014-11, 34,000 miles“I have no idea what part is bad.... I was driving on a open highway and all of a sudden I had no speed, it was as if I had taken my foot off the accelerator, I was able to get it off the highway but when it was idling, it was running really rough. After setting for awhile it seemed to run ok but of course being a lady I am very uncomfortable driving it now. …”
NHTSA complaint #10565740, filed 2014-02, 24,500 miles“Wrench light came on, all throttle response stopped. I was left at a traffic light with a car that would barely move. Took the car to the dealer - they tried to charge me to replace the electronic throttle body. The car was only out of warranty by 1000 miles. Ended up compromising on paying $100. Ford needs to fix this. They know it's an issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10549498, filed 2013-10, 37,100 miles“My 2011 Ford Escape would not accelerate, I drove it to the dealership oxmoor Ford and was told my throttle body needed to be replaced and the part was on national back order. No eta as to when the part would arrive quoted $600. Spending $53 per day for a rental car. I googled throttle body saw where all the other complaints were posted thought I would add mine.”
