“Loss of Acceleration in 2022 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid I am writing to report a safety issue with my 2022 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid, which has been experiencing acceleration lag and loss of power during regular driving conditions. Component/System that Failed: The powertrain system, specifically related to the integration between the electric motor and gasoline engine, appears to be malfunctioning. This issue primarily affects the vehicle's ability to accelerate after a stop or during turns. …”

NHTSA complaint #11617292, filed 2024-09

“My F150 will, on occasion, not accelerate when I am going slow and making a right turn. There are no fault lights, just the engine does nothing when I press the gas pedal. I coast to the intersection, apply the breaks, start the right turn, then press the accelerator to speed up. For about 6 seconds nothing happens (regardless of how hard I press the pedal), then the engine engages and the truck accelerates. I have mentioned this to my dealer several times, but they just keep explaining that they have not heard of the issue and they cannot replicate. …”

NHTSA complaint #11749943, filed 2026-07

“After driving home from work on 12/20/24 the truck was parked at ~10pm. At ~1AM on 12/21/24, I was alerted that the truck was on fire. I found the vehicle fully engulfed in the hood and cab area. There was no prior indication of a problem or issue. The truck was fully destroyed and my home and Jeep were damaged. My home was damaged and only saved because I brought my garden hose out and sprayed the house until the local FD arrived. The local Fire Investigator and the Insurance Fire investigator could it definitively identify how/why the truck caught fire and burned up.”

NHTSA complaint #11650194, filed 2025-03

“I just started the truck, put it in gear, and began driving slowly through the parking lot. The gas pedal was unresponsive—even when pressed all the way to the floor, the truck would not accelerate or move. This has happened multiple times, both while rolling slowly and sometimes from a complete stop. It occurs intermittently.”

NHTSA complaint #11730146, filed 2026-04

“The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 23V896000(Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various undisclosed speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. …”
