“I removed my wheels for standard rotation. When I removed the wheel from the passenger side rear, I found the rear axle bolt was fractured. The portion of the bolt and washer were inside the wheel. This appeared to have been chronic. Pictures available. I did not attempt to remove this bolt. This spontaneously sheared off. It was literally sitting inside the wheel hub.”
NHTSA complaint #11531257, filed 2023-07“NHTSA states to file a complaint if there has been no remedy in reference to a safety recall in a timely manner. As of to date there is still an open recall on my truck and Ford has stated the recall is incomplete due to no remedy yet available. This recall has been in place since 12/22/23. My truck did have a broken hub bolt and I believe the dealership replaced the passenger rear axle hub. The dealership told me that this is only a temporary repair until Ford comes up with a remedy.”
NHTSA complaint #11646731, filed 2025-03“I am reporting a concern about the engine-coolant condition in my 2022 Ford F-150 hybrid. During a September 1, 2026 inspection at Ford of Clermont, dealership personnel reportedly showed or described the coolant as black-brown or discolored and recommended coolant replacement. I recall the coolant appearing abnormal, but I have not received a written coolant test, laboratory analysis, technician diagnosis, or explanation establishing why it looked that way. I purchased the truck on July 18, 2026, with 39,647 miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #11770300, filed 2026-10“I experienced two wet-road skidding incidents in my 2022 Ford F-150 hybrid. In the first, I was stopped at a light before turning across a three-lane roadway. When I began turning after the light changed, the truck skidded about two lanes over and I lost control. After it appeared to level out, I gently tried to keep it in my lane. I do not know whether traction or stability control was off or whether I may have pressed a control button. The following Friday, after stopping at a red light, the truck began to skid when I released the brake. I was not flooring the accelerator. …”
NHTSA complaint #11770293, filed 2026-10“The axle bolt has broken twice. The first time I was advised the factory torqued it too tight. The entire axle was replaced. The second time both hub assemblies were replaced. I was told there was a recall but no one could advise me why it was happening or any specifics on the recall. Both time the bolt was found to be broken when I had the tires rotated, there was no odd sounds or odd driving movement to indicate something was wrong. I took the truck into have the bolt inspected after about 1,000 miles to make certain it was ok. …”
