“New 2022 Ford F-150 vehicle has a Rear Brake Assist Not Available dash warning with accompanting DTCs B1578:78, IPMA Error, and U023A, Lost Communication with Image Processing Module A. I should note my Check Engine Light never came on for either of these DTCs - I was given these codes by the dealer when I took vehicle in for service concerning the aforementioned dash warning. After having the vehicle for 10 days in May 2022, the dealer replaced the rear camera (ML3Z-19G490-C), control assembly (ML3Z-14G647-R), and performed an IPMA calibration and a 360° camera calibration. …”

“The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that there was a chirping noise coming from underneath the chassis of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts for the recall repair were not yet available. …”

NHTSA complaint #11534698, filed 2023-07

“Again today 12/3/23 the sync 4 screen upon startup froze in a gray screen for minutes then restated rendering the Federally Mandated Tear Camera 100% inoperable. Nothing worked for minutes a safety hazard not being able to see and move”

NHTSA complaint #11558235, filed 2023-12

“Listed date as the date I caught issue on camera, but this has happened multiple times before and since. Numerous issues w/ infotainment system on 2022 F150 Powerboost Platinum. Backup cameras will load normally when put into reverse, but freeze once the vehicle starts moving. Still displays last image, however it's not updating nor does any of the sensors work at this point. Vehicle still drives/shifts normally, but no alerts or warnings indicate problem. It's easy enough to realize (at some point) that the screen is frozen, however there are numerous safety hazards that this presents. …”
