“The hood release latch on my 2010 Ford F-150 truck in on the sidewall near the floor on the cab. I have had the vehicle for about a month and it appears that my left foot released the hood release latch and allowed the hood to open while I was driving. This is a very dangerous place to put the hood release latch. It apparently snagged on my shoe and was pulled back as I exited the vehicle and I was not aware of it and there are no warning light to make the driver aware of this potential problem that the hood is in the unlatched condition. …”
NHTSA complaint #10304390, filed 2010-02, 860 miles“The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated that both rear driver and passenger doors were unable to unlock or open. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000. . . Consumer stated both doors were docked during winter. Although, top door releases but the bottom does not. Consumer taking it to the independent dealer.”

The contact stated that only the driver’s side door could be opened from the inside or the outside using the interior and exterior door handles. The other doors failed to open as needed. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the latching mechanism replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 182,000.”

The consumer stated in january 2012, he started to hear an incessant high pitched squeaking noise coming from the rear driver's side of the vehicle. The dealer informed the consumer the squeaking noise was coming from the tailgate latch assembly on the driver's side. The dealer stated they lubricated both sides and was road tested and the noise was gone. …”
