“Last year while camping. I pulled into our camping spot. When I put my f150 into park. The right passenger door lock popped up and the door opened all by itself. I got out of the truck to shut the door but it would not close. After having my kid pull and holding the door knob up from inside. The door finally closed. But I did it again later on in the trip. It sounds like the same recall that is on other 2015 f150. The dealership here in Marysville ohio states that it not a recalled item. They want to charge me $600 plus the fix the kinked wire. …”
NHTSA complaint #11567380, filed 2024-01, 203,405 miles“Door latches freeze during cold weather. Can not open doors or can not get doors to close once opened. I have had all recalls and customer satisfaction programs preformed. Dealer has no other fix options available from Ford. All 2015 f150's exposed to cold climates have the potential for door latches to freeze. For the past three years I have had to drive with door or doors unable to close at times. I don't think a ratchet strap holding doors closed is safe. This is a serious issue that has been continuing for the past three winters. You just never know when the latches will or will not work.”
NHTSA complaint #11165153, filed 2019-01, 27,000 miles“Supercrews rear door locks do not work electronically. Also driver door locks do not work electronically(button or key fob) or manually either inside or with key outside. Also once open, the door will not latch when closed. This happens when the temperature is below freezing. Has only happened stationary and on different days. Leaving the truck run with heat on high allows the doors to lock/latch. This is not an issue with the key lock or door seals freezing as there was no adverse weather other than the cold temperature. …”
NHTSA complaint #10944167, filed 2017-01, 20,000 miles“The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the tailgate latch intermittently failed to open. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11499234, filed 2022-12, 99,000 miles“The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rear sliding window latch mechanism had separated and fallen into the interior of the vehicle several times. The dealer was notified of the failure and charged a fee for the repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.”
