“Lug nuts on truck get swollen and the dealer could not get the lug nuts off of the truck. I had to buy twelve new lug nuts at my cost. They replaced with the same lug nuts. If you break down and the lug nuts are swollen you can not get your tire off to change it. This is a safety problem that needs to be fixed, Ford will not pay for the replacement of the part.”

NHTSA complaint #11083776, filed 2018-04, 45,000 miles

“My F-150 has had 2 turbos in 1 year go bad on it, causing me to not be able to accelerate at highway speeds. Losing gas mileage and coolant also. My tire sensor has also gone bad on the truck and caused me to over inflate it.”

NHTSA complaint #11155487, filed 2018-12, 70,000 miles

“All lug nuts are swelling- hard to get off. Tech told me it will get to point I will have to have them all replaced and if I were to get a flat tire there is no way I would be able to get any of them off at this point.”

NHTSA complaint #11105137, filed 2018-07, 54,982 miles

“I got a flat tire and tire could not be removed. The lug nuts holding the tire had swelling to a different size so tire can't be removed. I was stuck on side of road.”

NHTSA complaint #11377886, filed 2020-12, 106,000 miles

“Attempting to change a flat on the side of the highway, I was unable to get the lug nuts off because the Ford standard wrench supplied with the jack kit is too small and wouldn't fit onto the nuts even when trying to force it on by banging on it with a rock. I was left stranded on the side of the highway for a couple of hours waiting for aaa to bring the correct sized socket. The aaa service man said that he had to use a 7/8 socket. This situation put me in unnecessary danger and is a major inconvenience. …”
