“While trying to pass a dump truck on the interstate with adaptive cruise on, vehicle slammed on the brakes, and causing the vehicle behind me to slam on theirs to avoid hitting me.. I noticed that there had been a recall for this before in 2015, but I never received any notice of this.. It is a very serious road hazard!!”

NHTSA complaint #11298968, filed 2020-01, 42,500 miles

“While driving on the highway using the adaptive cruise control, the vehicle may falsely detects an obstacle in its path and may unexpectedly apply the brakes. This issue has been addressed by NHTSA campaign number: 15v-614, but my vehicle was not part of the recall. I believe my (and perhaps other peoples) vehicle should have been included in the campaign.”

NHTSA complaint #10876308, filed 2016-06, 14,500 miles

“This is the second time the engine just seized on me while driving in motion, on the interstate, at a high rate of speed and I would have to change the gear to keep it from stalling! This is a serious safety issue. I am taking it in for service at autonation Ford in sanford fl, again today!”

NHTSA complaint #11233312, filed 2019-07, 80,000 miles

“Driving down the road today being mindful of the speed limit since I just got a speeding ticket two weeks prior. I looked at the speedometer and it read 62. I know the difference I speed variation just from driver feeling and experience. Well I applied the brakes and the speedometer did not move. When I reached my destination I put the car in park and noticed my speedometer was frozen at 40 MPH. So now according to the trucks brain 40 MPH = 0 MPH”

NHTSA complaint #11270177, filed 2019-10, 65,000 miles

“When passing a large truck on a 4 lane road, adaptive cruse detected a collision and applied full braking. This occurred as I was in the trucks full shadow. Again last week while on the expressway and passing a semi, my vehicle detected a collision and applied full braking, again while in the semi's shadow.”

NHTSA complaint #10749043, filed 2015-08, 1,400 miles
