“While giving a customer a quote (work) my truck started smoking. I opened the driver side door flames had already taken over, there was no saving anything. So I then called 911 & tried putting it out with what resources we did have. We had to manually unhook my lawn trailer from truck to prevent from loosing my entire livelihood.”

NHTSA complaint #11315954, filed 2020-03, 200,000 miles

“The gas peddle stuck on the for f150, I see complaint and a recall about the escape, but what about the fords? On the intranet are several complaints about the same issue with the Ford trucks. We had a major accident and out truck was destroyed due to this.”

NHTSA complaint #10638246, filed 2014-09, 131,000 miles

“Just got home and parked my truck. I left 15 minutes later in my other vehicle. While I was gone (approx. 20 minutes later) my truck caught on fire. Looks like the cruise control switch on the brake master cylinder, which is a Ford recall. My neighbors put out the fire. This is the first action I have taken.”

NHTSA complaint #10268780, filed 2009-05, 204,198 miles

“Throttle sticks after steady driving in cold/snow because of Ford's poor design, they even state it in Ford article no. 01-21-5. Has happened may times to me. I just finally got an answer to the problem. The fix is over 500.00, and I don't have the money. It is their poor design, this just does not seem fair. I have had several close calls due to this problem, there really should be a recall on this.”

NHTSA complaint #10251030, filed 2008-12, 85,000 miles

“I had been at my neighbors house for over 1 1/2 hours. We heard a loud boom that shook the trailer we ran outside and discovered the drivers side tire blew out due to the fire. The entire hood was melting down onto the motor . There was no electrical components left under the hood by this time and the fire was spreading to the cab , but we finally put it out then the fire department came . I called my insurance co , they are investigating the cause of the fire . Please let me know if any of this pertains to my case . Thank you”
