Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I recently ought a 2022 Ford F-150 off of a private seller. It had a clean Carfax when I bought it. About a month after I bought the truck, on July 24, 2025, the following warning lights appeared on my dash all on the same day. Blind Spot Assist Not Available, Cross Traffic Assist Not Available, and Reverse Brake Assist Not Available. Also, my drivers side window would not roll down, and my drivers side lock/unlock buttons would not work. There were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. …”

NHTSA complaint #11681893, filed 2025-08

“Tail light on the drivers side was hyper flashing and upon inspection found that it is not working. When I removed the tail light to replace the bulb I noticed that the whole tail light assembly was full of water. The bulb is inside a housing that is inaccessible, so bulb cannot be replaced without replacing the whole tail light assembly. Leaking tail light assembly causing failure of turn signals or brake lights is a serious safety hazard and can cause an accident. Additional safety risk if BLIS system fails and driver is not aware that it isn’t working.”

NHTSA complaint #11734194, filed 2026-04

“Adaptive cruise control applies brakes at varied levels from light to full stop when passing vehicles on the left in an open highway setting when no vehicle is present ahead. Speed range is approx 65-75mph. Other conditions are Interstate highway open road, sunny to partly cloudy, and problem occurs when passing and a longer vehicle (CL8 or other vehicle with trailer is present on the right), no other unusual or notable conditions can be remembered at this time. …”

NHTSA complaint #11745953, filed 2026-06

“The main dashboard screen either works delayed after starting, and also unknowingly screen freezes. Have ALMOST backed up into another vehicle not knowing screen was frozen, have been into shop 4 times for repair and NOT ONCE has been repaired.”

NHTSA complaint #11622430, filed 2024-10

“Tail lights with BLIS crack at the Manufacturing Seam of the light, causing critical safety features to not function. Additionally, water penetrates light and causes electrical shortage. Well known issue amongst truck enthusiasts.”
