“Below is what I'm experiencing with my vehicle and I want to see if there is anything I can do to get Ford to fix the problem. Is there anyway I can get my VIN on the affected list? The upper oil pan CSAT recall has affected a range of Ford F-250 models, primarily those equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. While specific years can vary depending on the exact nature of the issue and the recall campaign, it's generally considered that models from 2011 to 2020 have been impacted. …”
NHTSA complaint #11623900, filed 2024-11, 127,671 miles“My husband was driving on hwy 77 in va on october 25, 2018 when he accidentally ran into the back of a tri-axle dump truck going at a slower speed. Upon impact something under the hood immediately burst into flames and the fire quickly spread. The side impact air bags did not deflate and my husband struggle to get the driver door open. Fortunately my husband was able to get out of the truck with the help of the dump truck driver pulling on the outside of the truck door. The fire quickly spread to the cab of the truck and the aluminum melted away. …”
NHTSA complaint #11151182, filed 2018-11, 5,500 miles“Before the v8 gasoline engine reaches some prescribed operating temperature ( before the engine is fully warmed up ), when headed downhill, no low gears function in any mode and the engine experiences sudden unintended acceleration. The truck was purchased new in 2018. The Ford company has repeatedly acknowledged the defects, and however claims that all 2018 gasoline powered f250s are designed that way to meet certain standards and therefore everything is fine despite being extremely dangerous in certain circumstances. Please contact me for further elaboration with names, dates, and places. …”
NHTSA complaint #11271111, filed 2019-10, 527 miles“While on vacation, driving down a major interstate, our truck suddenly lost power. The driver slowly navigated to the side of the road and by the time we stopped flames were coming out from under the engine. We quickly got ourselves and three children out of the vehicle that, within minutes, was completely engulfed in flames. It was noted by police and the wrecker company that diesel fuel was on the road behind the truck and on the trailer that we were pulling.”
NHTSA complaint #11613625, filed 2024-09“The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-250. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. There was no warning light illuminated before the failure. The contact was unsure if the vehicle was towed or taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was rust in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.”
