“Motor has a nkocking tapping sound like and old school type writer and gets loud at times when ideling and some time really loud anfter driving it fo rw whlle, (diesel engine doesn't sound like that),Ford engineering at factory knows what the problem is but refuses to allow dealership to repair it and replace the parts. Transmission had snecor and valve body go out caused transmission to lock up in 10th gear and stalling out. …”

NHTSA complaint #11413605, filed 2021-04, 150 miles

“When slowing down to a stop slowly the truck bumps/clunks and surges. This is intensified if the transmission is warm. Also when going up a hill under a load there is a gear noise from the rear of the truck.”

NHTSA complaint #11399880, filed 2021-03, 1,500 miles

“Vehicle demonstrates repeatable uncommanded acceleration when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Also demonstrates uncommanded acceleration when engine braking engages. Occasionally vehicle operates at a uncommanded high idle of 1200-1500 RPM vs the normal 600. Mostly happens when slow maneuvering such as in a parking lot or other tight space. It has happened ever since new and it has 5100 miles on it now. Purchasing dealer said it was normal. Others are reporting the same issue in forums online.”

NHTSA complaint #11389163, filed 2021-01, 5,100 miles

“AT 107,000 I lost 10th gear on the highway while pulling a trailer and was almost involved in a collision. The collar of the f250 10 speed is just as bad as the 2018 10 speed on f150s and they are failing at 100k. Complete new transmission needed. This should be recalled and i should be refunded. This is insanely dangerous to lose power while driving”

NHTSA complaint #11689515, filed 2025-09

“Pulled into my driveway, put vehicle in park and vehicle rolled away. Dealer says transmission needs to be replaced. NHTSA bulletin 22s22 is a roll away risk for 2020 F-250 but my VIN is not included in this recall but I fear more vehicles were affected by this then what ford reported”
