“I have had two door latches fail in the same vehicle within 2 years of each other. No matter whether the vehicle is moving or stationary, I got a warning stating the right rear (and now the right front) door was not closed when in fact it was. There is a faulty sensor in the door latches. This also prevents the child locks from engaging since it thinks the doors are open.”

NHTSA complaint #11196868, filed 2019-04, 75,000 miles

“Passanger door thinks its ajared. Door is secured its just think its openned. Won't allow me to lock automatically and will set off the alarm. Other than having the indication while driving, most of the problems are when it is parked and locked (if I could). I'm just dealing with the alarm issue now, dome lights always on, and soon to be dead battery.”

NHTSA complaint #11024934, filed 2017-09, 31,000 miles

“The car started smoking from the engine compartment which the battery was leaking acid from the terminal. This happened while in motion and stationary. The dealership said it was not covered under extended warranty which I thought I was given bumper to bumper warranty. Passenger door sensor may be the cause. From no clear connection.”

NHTSA complaint #10785721, filed 2015-10, 46,965 miles

“Door ajar lights continuously show on when all doors are closed. My interior lights will not go off and impairs my vision at night. Also because the ajar warnings are on my doors will not lock. I try to manually lock them and they automatically unlock while im driving. Not good while I have my 4 children in the car!”
