“As I'm driving the check engine light turns on and it slows down my car to two miles per hour once I turn it back off and back on it starts working again but as soon as I drive for a couple of miles or not even a couple of minutes the light comes back on and my car go straight to driving to miles per hour I want to know what could be wrong with this and why is it doing it”
NHTSA complaint #11032580, filed 2017-10, 35 miles“Door ajar sensors. The dash board cluster indicates that car doors are open ( ajar ) when they are not. This causes interior lights to stay until the car is driven, alarm to sound at night, which at times drains my battery. Auto door locks do not work. I reported this once before, here and to Ford customer service, not sure of the date, but in 2015 no response!!”
NHTSA complaint #10861776, filed 2016-04, 90,000 miles“The car started smoking from the engine compartment which the battery was leaking acid from the terminal. This happened while in motion and stationary. The dealership said it was not covered under extended warranty which I thought I was given bumper to bumper warranty. Passenger door sensor may be the cause. From no clear connection.”
NHTSA complaint #10785721, filed 2015-10, 46,965 miles“The vehicle door ajar alarm is saying that the door is still open even though the door is securely shut. This happened first when we were going to be getting out of the car and we thought we didn't get the door shut tightly. However, multiple times over the past 7-10 days the door ajar alarm is going off, even when traveling down the road after it was previously not on and the door is securely shut. …”
NHTSA complaint #10608793, filed 2014-07, 49,050 miles“Twice the door ajar light was stuck on. The first time it was the passenger rear door and was fixed under warranty. The second time it was the passenger front door that I had to pay for at my Ford dealer this past august to the tune of $ 280.00. Both times the interior light stayed on and also the car alarm would start itself. Now I was told by my mechanic that my battery is shot. I wonder why? I also own a 2013 c-max part of the latch recall.”
