“I leased a 2013 Ford FLEX, limited, awd, with the eco-boost engine upgrade. My wife slid into the lawn making a turn on our driveway into the garage due to the lack of grip in snow and ice of the hankook optiomo h426 tires. I paid extra for the 2)' wheel and tire upgrade. The tires are listed on the window sticker as all season tires. In checking several of the rating services, including tire rack, these tires are considered unsatisfactory in winter driving conditions and marginal for hydroplaning. In essence, hankook has produced a tire that cannot do what it is supposed to do. …”
NHTSA complaint #10564134, filed 2014-02, 8,000 miles“The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact stated that the passenger’s side rear wheel was corroded and leaking air. The TPMS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wheel needed to be replaced. The wheel was not replaced, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.”
