Example complaints
Steering: “I had just picked up my daughter after work and we started heading on down the road. Then as I was turning around this curve a loud noise happened and lost all the power steering in my car. I have never experienced anything like this in all the years of driving. Very dangerous and now the Ford dealership said that this is not a recall for my vehicle. I know there is recall for this exact issue so I want to protect anyone else who has my vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #10701838, filed 2015-03, 57,486 milesElectrical system: “The drivers side hood latch that has a micro switch to warn if the hood is open to safety latch. My issue is the warning will not shut off. Professionals checked it and cannot solve the problem. It seems to be related to a computer issue ? Car was and is is stationary.I read several others with this same problem and received some bad advice ,like cutting wires etc.”
NHTSA complaint #11048469, filed 2017-11, 79,000 milesBrakes: “On numerous occasions, I have experienced a momentary loss of control of my car when braking. The car accelerates momentarily after the brakes engage and I have taken my foot off of the accelerator. This problem occurs when decelerating around a curve , driving downhill, or when decelerating over a bump or other area of raised pavement like my driveway. These instances have occurred on city streets, at speeds under 40 MPH. When it occurs it feels as if the car is accelerating. I would also describe the feeling as a surge, even though the car is braking, and should be slowing. …”
NHTSA complaint #11096454, filed 2018-05, 26,000 milesFuel system: “Stop safely now error. The drivetrain disengaged preventing drive or reverse from working. On 7/26/14 I drove 1 hour, parked, turned car off and removed the ignition key then the interior air conditioning blower/fan turned on full as if the defroster was on. The touch screen lcd remained on as well. Pressing the climate control buttons on either the lcd or the console had no affect. I inserted the key and started the car again several times without change. The interior air conditioner blower/fan continued to run. …”
