“I purchased my new Jeep Cherokee on 2/2/2014. From very soon after I began driving it, I was aware that there was an unusually high amount of noise coming from the front end when the car was going more than 30 MPH or so; it sounded as if the car had a propeller. I returned the car to the dealership the following day (I reside about 35 miles away). At first, they thought it was a transmission noise, but it was subsequently diagnosed as a bad wheel bearing. …”

NHTSA complaint #10563446, filed 2014-02, 10 miles

“Driving down a smooth well traveled dirt road when the drivers side front wheel fell off the car with no notice. Had 2 seconds of odd sensation and then the wheel was outrunning my car. Found 3 failed lug bolts within 1/8th of a mile. Threads stripped out and had excess metal material in them as well, not no breakage or shortening of lugs. Brake rotors was loose and movable by hand but I don't know if that was prior or due impact and dragging on the ground.”
