“Air bag service light is on. Also, the seatbelt light is on stating driver does not have seatbelt even when plugged in. Vehicle was on the highway when this occurred.”
NHTSA complaint #11363398, filed 2020-10, 44,000 miles“The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. While stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle rolled forward and struck another vehicle. The seat belt failed to lock up as designed. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they would not research the failure. The failure mileage was 25,083.”
