“Since the purchase of my new 2014 Jeep Cherokee the transmission has shifted rough when in stop and go traffic, getting stuck in the lower gear and then finally slamming into the next higher gear causing the car to jump forward - extremely dangerous when in close traffic! It only happens when in stop and go traffic up to 15-20 MPH and it seems like it will not shift no matter how much I accelerate then it releases suddenly. On the highway in the higher gears it seems to slip only occasionally. …”

NHTSA complaint #10585522, filed 2014-04, 780 miles

“Without any notice my drivers side seatbelt won't retract. Not even a little. It is completely useless. When I looked online I saw that so many people were having this issue that there was possibly going to be a recall/repair. I tried several times to get it to retract even a little but it won't at all.”

NHTSA complaint #11592526, filed 2024-06

“Just received my third safety recall today...p67. P14, brake booster and p36, sun visor wiring are yet to be fixed. P14 dates back to this fall 2014. I've been on a waiting list since that time. The dealership, patriot chrysler dodge in mountain lake park, md says they cannot get the parts to fix the recalls. Is this ridiculous? Please advise.”

NHTSA complaint #10663610, filed 2014-12

“The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle erroneously shifted into neutral or shifted out of gear and failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission computer chip was faulty. The computer chip was reprogrammed but the vehicle continued to experience the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer multiple times due to the failure. Also, the contact indicated that the rear passenger side seat belts would erroneously unlatch while the vehicle was in motion. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. …”

NHTSA complaint #10695013, filed 2015-03, 15,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notice of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v634000 (electrical system) and 14v643000 (air bags, seat belts); however, the parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.”
