“When I was driving at highway, all the sudden service transmission light on and transmission meter went up to the highest point, car stopped by itself. Beside steering, everything else stopped working. Thank god, I was next to emergency line. I only got 30 second to get out high speed traffic road.”
NHTSA complaint #11154841, filed 2018-11, 26,000 miles“My 2016 Jeep Cherokee limited has a parking brake issue. My parking brake will not disengage, the car will not move forward or back, the light remains lit up on the dashboard. My Jeep is inoperable due to this issue. I was stopped at a light in traffic and my car refused to move at all. It finally moved out of park in 30 minutes. The next day my car did the same thing again while I was trying to back out of a parking space at the store. It had to be towed to a Jeep dealership. …”
NHTSA complaint #11398607, filed 2021-03, 42,503 miles“Auto on/off will stop working and notify me on my screen. It will state I need to get it serviced. Also it will pop up that the gear shifter stops working, and need to get it serviced. Both will disappear after engine is turned off and back on.”
NHTSA complaint #11110967, filed 2018-07, 25,000 miles“While driving, vehicle will decelerate and warning light appears to shift car in gear. Then car turns off. Can not use breaks, all electronics flash and coltage light alarm comes on. When taken to dealer twice, no errors found. My children drove it today and the vehicle suddenly stopped and all warning lights came in along with a message to shift the car into gear. The vehicle was dead. Took back to dealer and again no error. I have researched this and many of the same vehicles are having the same problems, but Jeep does nothing.”
NHTSA complaint #11163118, filed 2018-12, 51,000 miles“Purchased my 2015 Jeep Cherokee in september 2015 brand new with 19 miles. The car started off running great I loved it. By april 2016, I noticed the car began to drive differently and at first I didn't think much of it but it got worse and worse. By october my car was jerking so bad, stalling sometimes and accelerating sometimes on it's on.I took it into the dealership and they replaced the transmission with only 11000 miles on the vehicle. My car drove like it once used to until about the end of january 2017. …”
