“Car did not have any power when pressing the gas peddle. Engine light was on. Even though car was brought to dealer for service november 1 2014. Two fault codes were found the dealer (papa dodge) replaced EGR and gasket valve. I called the dealer about 10 days later and told them the car still did not have power when pressing the gas peddle. The supervisor of the service department took Jeep for test drive and said he didn't see a problem. On december 25 engine light came on. On december 26 I was driving about 5 miles per hour and saw smoke came to completed stop. …”
NHTSA complaint #10668355, filed 2014-12, 97,000 miles“Severe wobble in front end where control of vehicle is hard to maintain. It began intermittently and briefly and now is repetitive and sustained. My Wrangler is now being evaluated for the fourth time and needs a steering dampener replaced (which was the recall) along with replacing upper and lower ball joints. Chrysler reportedly had 4,000 of these vehicles recalled under service bulletin number: csn-j34 with this same issue. My vehicle is not included in the recall. This vehicle and others like it is going to kill someone. …”
NHTSA complaint #10396307, filed 2011-04, 47,164 miles“My Jeep Wrangler 2007 shakes so violently that I can no longer drive it. I am afraid that I may kill someone or my self or my kid. It is the scariest thing ever. At three (3) different occasions I almost crash. I heard so many Jeep owners have the same problem, so why chrysler are not doing something about this serious problem? They tried to tell me its front end or a tire issue. I have changed my steering damper, my stabilizer bar and bushings. Had it aligned and bought new tires and balance. Problem still exist. The vehicle has been towed back to the dealer as of this morning. …”
NHTSA complaint #10526439, filed 2013-07, 65,951 miles“The throttle control randomly goes out, while it is easy to reset the sensor, so the vehicle remains driveable, it is dangerous to be driving on the highway or crossing the highway with children in the car and the car goes into limp mode. I was turning on the highway where people are doing 60mph and suddenly mid turn the car goes into limp mode and doesn't want to move while cars come speeding at you.”
NHTSA complaint #11267344, filed 2019-10, 135,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning. A local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 139,388.”
