“The infotainment display will reboot continuously, in weather below 60 degrees, and will not stabilize until the car is warmed. During this time you are unable to access any of the features. This can take 20 minutes or more. It has been an issue for about a year, and others have had the same problem with no resolution or explanation.”

NHTSA complaint #11398465, filed 2021-03, 59,978 miles

“Navigation/backup camera screen reboots constantly. This problem often occurs when I'm backing up. Mazda is aware of the issue as I have found many complaints on forums. It is not exclusive to the CX5. It appears to be all Mazda's, cars and SUV's.”

NHTSA complaint #11497873, filed 2022-12

“The rear camera dose not always display on the LCD screen, likely due to the ghosting issue with the infotainment system which randomly cuts in and out. This poses a safety hazard when backing up. Despite repeated complaints from other owners as well regarding the LCD screen, Mazda will not cover cost of replacing the LCD screen. I had a 2014 Mazda 3 for which there was a recall for the same issue and they covered it. So I don't understand why they won't do it for this vehicle. Being able to see what is behind the vehicle when backing up is a safety concern. …”
