NHTSA complaint #11730438, filed 2026-04

“Turn signal is not cancelling after turning. Brough vehicle back to dealership and they did not have the part to fix it and never called me back. Looked in the NHTSA recall listing and saw that issues with turn signals have been previously reported under 23V799000. What can I do?”

“The issue concerns the steering column control module, when the turn signal is used or activate the turn signal self-canceling feature may not function properly. Either issue can cause confusion or reduce visibility for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash. I have asked the dealer to fix the issue but have told me they have been out of stock of the part and I have been waiting over 6 months for the fix with no resolution.”

An authorized Ram dealership inspected the vehicle and diagnosed a failed Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) that required replacement. The part was backordered for approximately four months. I was later advised to contact another authorized Ram dealership that had the part available, and I scheduled an appointment specifically to have the previously diagnosed SCCM issue repaired. After that appointment, I was advised by the service department that the issue had been fixed. …”
