“I was driving with my mother and my three kids in the car and while I was driving a strut rod (metal pole) came thru my hood so I have a hole in the hood of my car with a metal pole sticking out.. Never seen nothing like it..the auto mechanic said it is dangerous we could have been killed.. Didn't even realize my back brake cylinder is leaking fluid brakes went down to the floor....”

NHTSA complaint #10471835, filed 2012-08, 99,000 miles

“2004 Chrysler Pacifica. In the past 3 months we have replaced the motor mounts and the antilock braking system module. We now have a thrown rod in the motor or a major cylinder problem. The vehicle only has 80,000 miles on it and we maintain it regularly. Are there any other problems that are common for this vehicle?”

NHTSA complaint #10314986, filed 2010-02, 82,500 miles

“I was driving through slush down a hill when the ABS brakes failed to slow me down and I hit trees head on at about 40 MPH. The airbags never deployed. Two systems failed on the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica awd car. I was not injured, other than a few seat belt bruises, but the car was totaled.”

NHTSA complaint #10265217, filed 2009-04, 78,000 miles

“All of the dash lights, ABS, brake, interior lights, headlights have been flickering for a solid 3 days. I was driving at night on a non-lit stretch of road when all my lights went out, inside and out with a car approaching from the other direction. I tried to use my high beams and they were out too. I had my children and had to pull over. I have read reviews and this seems to be a huge problem with these cars yet no recall? Why? This is so dangerous! This is my main vehicle I drive for work and with my family. …”

NHTSA complaint #10679417, filed 2015-01, 156,000 miles

“The front rotors on my 2004 chrusler Pacifica are in need of turning again for the second time. The front rotors were first turned by Chrysler in january 2006 at roughly 40000 miles, but need turning again now at near 50000 miles. This, to me, is indicative of a weakness in the design of the brake system.”
