“The front right passenger seat belt does not lock or click in place. I researched recall number 04v047000 and learned there were similar issues. Contacted the dealer and was told that there was no recall on my particular vehicle. This appears to be more of a manufacturer problem and a great safety risk. The dealer just took my info but offered no assistance.”

NHTSA complaint #10396724, filed 2011-04, 89,771 miles

“My vehicle is a 2005 Chrysler town & country mini-van. The air bag warning light comes on frequently. In spring 2009, [?] I called Chrysler headquarters, and requested they fix it. I talked to a Chrysler rep. A few times, by phone, who required that I take it to the dealer for a diagnostic test, which I was to pay for. I did. But Chrysler waved the diagnostic fee. They told me that Chrysler was not going to cover the cost of the fix. As the recall at that time did not include missouri. Only 20 some states in the n.e. Area. …”

NHTSA complaint #10407185, filed 2011-06, 60,000 miles

“I purchases a 2005 Chrysler Town And Country minivan. I made a hard stop using firm brake pedal pressure. My sleeping son was allowed to fall forward in his booster seat because the seat belt did not catch. In every other car manufactured in the modern world, it take very little force to make the seat belts catch regardless of whether the brakes are applied or not. In the t&c, it takes a tremendous force to cause the 2nd and 3rd row seat belts to catch (brake not applied). The front seat belts catch instantly with little force. …”

NHTSA complaint #10078322, filed 2004-06, 50 miles

“Air bag warning light on instrument panel illuminates on/off constantly. Came on/off 38 times on a recent 160 mile trip to st. Joe, mo. It happens at all different speeds. *************************************** seat belt warning light also comes on somewhat frequently.”

NHTSA complaint #10616559, filed 2014-07, 80,000 miles

“- the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Town And Country. The contact stated that the sensor control module for the front air bags was not working and the sensor light turned on warning of a airbag malfunction. Also, the contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt was not tightening as it should. The contact replaced the front crash sensors, and the seat belt retractor. The contact believed that water entered the sensor assembly. The contact had the vehicle repaired, but believed that the work she had done should fall under a safety recall. …”
