“My car was put into drive with out there being any key in the ignition rolled forward I tested it again to see if there was something I did not do and again on a flat serface no key in the ignition not foot on the brake I was able to get it into drive.”
NHTSA complaint #10511268, filed 2013-05, 122,547 miles“Don't get me wrong I love my Chrysler t&c lx stow and go. I only have 4 problems with it. This one is for the transmission and it scared the living crap out of me! Last night on my way home on the highway I went to pass a semi and got about half way around it and my check engine light came on and I heard a loud whinning noise and next thing you know my RPM were full blown and I was not gaining speed I was stuck and no where to go as car was approching a head on collision I had to slam on my brakes and pray no one was coming up behind us and get back behind semi!! …”
NHTSA complaint #11058576, filed 2018-01, 189,475 miles“I had to pay $115.88 to quinn Chrysler-dodge in bartlesville, ok to receive a software correction for the powertrain control module and transmission control module on my 2005 Chrysler town & country minivan . The dealer told me this repair was a known problem and resulted in the transmission shifting erratically. I believe this is a safety hazard and Chrysler should correct this problem without charge to owners.”
NHTSA complaint #10173900, filed 2006-11, 81,260 miles“My 2005 Chrysler town/country came to a complete stop on a residential street after my hand/purse ran into the key in the ignition. I coasted to a stop. Luckily, since it was on a side street with no one behind me I was able to remain calm, put it into park and started the vehicle back up with no problem. There has not been a problem since then. I have made sure to lighten the load on my keychain, only having 2 keys and nothing else. I can not imagine what would have happened had I been on the freeway going 70 MPH!!! That is why I am submitting this complaint. …”
NHTSA complaint #10593372, filed 2014-05, 110,000 miles“The first time this happened I almost had a head on collision while trying to pass. When pushing the gas pedal to the floor to pass, the van would not accelerate. Not only can I not accelerate to pass, I cannot accelerate to avoid an emergency situation. Apparently the transmission is slipping. While the dealer has replaced parts in the transmission it has not fixed the problem. The vehicle is under warranty, but Chrysler does not know how to fix it.”
