“Have 64987 miles on my vehicle and my transmission went out while I was driving. Just 5000 miles over the warranty. $4000 to fix it. We just had it in december and paid $1500 to fix the vehicle including updating the transmission. This is ridiculous that such a new vehicle has this many break downs. My dodge caravan has 158000 miles and no major problems.”
NHTSA complaint #11206192, filed 2019-05, 64,985 miles“At 61,609 miles the torque converter came apart ruining the transmission. The vehicle would not engage in gear; when driving it would not stay in gear. This occurred without warning while I was on the road and almost caused an accident since the vehicle slowed down suddenly and without warning. In addition to needing a new transmission, I was told the combo cooler also needed replaced.”
NHTSA complaint #11331143, filed 2020-06, 61,609 miles“Driving down city road came to stop. Pushed gas pedal RPM's increased but vehicle did not move. Undrivable had to have it towed. No problems since new purchase till that day. States per my vehicle make model year there is recall for transmission pump failure. But when I put VIN number in no recall pulls up.”
NHTSA complaint #11365236, filed 2020-10, 64,000 miles“I was driving my car and lost power due to transmission not shifting or shifting hard. Engine will rev up to 4k rpms before it shifts into gear. The car does it from a stand still position to a moving state. It doesn't matter if it is city street or highway. I have been reading about a lot of these issues.”
NHTSA complaint #11325407, filed 2020-05, 98,000 miles“I have about 71000 miles and my car when pushing on the gas revved up the RPM's and would not move forward. My mechanic said my transmission fluid pump is bad. There is a recall for this exact issue for 2016 Chrysler Town And Country vans manufactured when mine was however my VIN is not included in the recall. Chrysler should do the right thing and include all those affected with this issue.”
