“The door locking mechanism for my 2016 Chrysler Town And Country stopped working. After doing some research this is an on going problem in this vehicle. If I were to get into an accident I would be unable to open the doors to get my children out for safety reasons. I am not sure why this hasn't been recalled yet.”
NHTSA complaint #11376046, filed 2020-11, 94,525 miles“The door locks to the sliding door for the driver side has permanently locked is self and it cannot be manually up-locked. The door cannot be opened from the inside or outside and there is not key hole to even allow me to try a key to unlock it. Also the passenger side appears to start going out so soon I will have 2 doors that don't open and potentially could trap anyone in the back of the car.”
NHTSA complaint #11123034, filed 2018-08, 55,000 miles“While at a stop sign car stopped working. It would not start so we had a new battery put in. Then the next day while driving 60 MPH on a highway lost all ability to accelerate, steer or break. Was able to restart the car a few moments later and drove a few more miles and while turning right onto a busy intersection the same thing happened. We are very lucky we were not hit by another vehicle in any of these situations!”
NHTSA complaint #11218875, filed 2019-06, 55,000 miles“While driving down a neighborhood street with my kids,I was 'punched' in the back of my head by the supplemental active head restraint on the drivers side. Upon examination, the plastic that hooks onto the holding pin snapped releasing the head restraint.”
NHTSA complaint #11363612, filed 2020-10, 60,821 miles“The actuator on the the sliding doors are stuck and thus the doors are locked and can not be unlocked. This has happed on both of my sliding doors. This is now the second time and it is very expensive to fix. My children have been unable to easily exit the vehicle.”
