“The contact's fiancé owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the power liftgate failed to open manually or automatically. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls related to the VIN for the failure. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11663918, filed 2025-05, 110,000 miles“Passenger doors freezes closed when snow and ice build up on the lower door mud guards. Available for inspection. Rear passengers have to crawl out of front doors during winter weather conditions. The problem hasn't been reproduced as of yet to the dealer but has been reported to the dealer. The dealer confirmed the problem a manufacturing flaw. No safety warning lights for the problem. Problem noticed January 2020.”
