“The paint on the rear hatch is bubbling, Ford states they do not have a issue. The same thing happened on my 2004 Expedition. This should not happen to a 2 year old vehicle. After researching online the problem seems very widespread. They will not give me a answer as to why this could happen on such a new vehicle, only send me a form letter response.”

NHTSA complaint #10466450, filed 2012-07, 51,626 miles

“2010 Ford Expedition was traveling southbound. A 2007 chevy silverado that was on the northbound side, made a left-hand turn in front of the Expedition without yielding right of way to oncoming traffic. The Expedition was traveling about 35 MPH and the brakes locked up leaving skid marks on the pavement. There was no time to react as it took place so quickly. The vehicles collided right front to right front. …”

NHTSA complaint #10898585, filed 2016-08, 137,995 miles

“Ford vehicle traveling at approximately 45 to 50 MPH hits pickup truck broadside pushes truck at 45 degree angle about 25 feet. Damage to Ford front bumper, fender and hood just off center of vehicle. No airbag deployment!”

NHTSA complaint #11031370, filed 2017-10, 84,500 miles

“Paint is blistering on the hood and rear tailgate, which are made of aluminum. Ford won't cover this under their corrosion warranty unless there is perforation thru to the sheet metal. By the time this occurs the warranty is up and the paint is falling off the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10605219, filed 2014-06, 24,583 miles

“After only a little over 3 years the vehicle has developed corrosion and paint bubbling on the hood and tailgate. These body panels are aluminum and the problem is well known, although the manufacturer is very reluctant to resolve these problems.”
