“My 2015 Ford f150 platinum has had the Ford recall 15s29 applied sept 30, 2015. The above mentioned 2015 Ford f150 platinum has since had the original problem, hard braking while passing a semi trailer while on the interstate at interstate speeds. This serious event happened oct 2, 2015. The recall did not fix the problem. The hard braking is a very sudden and serious event. It takes the truck from 70 to 55 or less MPH within the time it takes me to react and hit the gas pedal to stop the braking (1 second?). …”
NHTSA complaint #10786205, filed 2015-10, 5,000 miles“I was on the highway and my truck suddenly decreased speed rapidly. Luckily I was able to pull onto a side road and get to safety but it was extremely dangerous and scary situation. The dealer has confirmed the symptoms fit the issue with the recall. Since Ford does not have a fix for this solution yet until July 1 my vehicle is unable to be driven or repaired leaving me stranded without a vehicle. However, this is a very concerning safety issue and my family could have been severely impacted traveling on the highway.”
NHTSA complaint #11743643, filed 2026-06“Several extremely dangerous situations occured within 6 months of purchasing brand new 2015, F-150, 3.5, 4x4 ecoboost king ranch model. While driving on interstate, in rain, passing an 18 wheeler, without warning forward collision lights go off and truck begins slamming the brakes on by itself and the car behind me had to slam on his brakes to avoid a SEVERE crash. I brought truck to dealership they checked it out and said they wasnt sure why it happened and reset the computer, and put me back on the road. …”
NHTSA complaint #11644867, filed 2025-02“I was driving down the road like I always do, the cruise control just shut off. I tried to re-engage it and it would not respond, about 15 minutes later I engaged the cruise control successfully. This has happened numerous times over the last three weeks and now in order to engage the cruise control, I lift with my fingertips, the top left and the bottom left of the button and then it will engage. One occasion, the dash lights in trip 1 mode flashed. Then the control began working again.”
NHTSA complaint #11480374, filed 2022-08“My adaptive cruise control system still malfunctions and slams on the brakes automatically because it thinks it sees a vehicle in front that I am about to collide with. This only happens when I am passing large vehicles (semis, fuel semis, etc.) to my right when driving on highways. And it does not happen all the time (maybe 10-20% of the time I pass a semi on my right). But, when it does brake it scares me and then I have to press the gas hard so the person behind me doesn't rear end me. …”
