“When I crank my car it starts shaking really bad and missing my check engine light comes on and goes off took it to mechanic and they said it was leaking coolant into cylinder and the motor needs to be replaced. I'm afraid that it's gonna to stop going down the road. I'm a single parent and on a fixed income the cost of a new engine is half of what I owe.”
NHTSA complaint #11353064, filed 2020-09, 75,000 miles“Check engine light came on, had a rough idle. Mechanic notified me that it was a misfire in cylinder one, replaced spark plugs and cleared the code, was running fine. Few days later check engine light came back on. Took it to dealer and they notified me that there was coolant in my cylinder and that my engine may have to be replaced.”
NHTSA complaint #11329082, filed 2020-06, 64,000 miles“Engine was replaced in sep of 2019 due to coolant intrusion into one of the cylinders. Ricart Ford replaced it due to it being covered by an extended warranty. Now 14 months I get my Fusion back from an oil change to find my coolant completely empty. Took my car back into Ford and was told I have coolant intrusion again and that my engine needs replaced a second time.”
NHTSA complaint #11384215, filed 2020-12, 104,000 miles“Car stalled engine stalled going around 50 MPH on the interstate brought to Ford dealership they advised to replace the engine despite the car only being a 2015 model and having 80k miles. I contacted Ford in hopes of getting some sort of assistance but they refused to help. I could have been hit from behind as the car stalled multiple times on the way to the dealership.”
NHTSA complaint #11341944, filed 2020-07, 80,000 miles“My car was at idle at the store for less than 5 minutes and went into safe mode the mechanic said my active grill motor went out which caused my head gasket to blow without warning. I owe over $10000 on my car and now I have a $4000 shop bill. My car has never overheated not even at that time so my head gasket shouldn't be blown! Please help!”
