Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2015: “I was driving on the freeway with my cruise control set at 65. The vehicle abruptly started accelerating. Fortunately I had left myself a good distance from the semi in front of me or I would have rammed into the back of it. This was quite unnerving and after braking I received the following error codes: ABS, esp, traction control and cruise control.”

NHTSA complaint #11376216, filed 2020-11, 22,800 miles

2014: “Problem with speed sensors . I have replaced the speed sensor on my vehicle on four different occasions. This seems to be a reoccurring problem that needs to be addressed before someone gets seriously injured. Mercedes benz seems to be doing nothings to rectify this problem. Please be concerned that the public needs your help with this as soon as possible.”

NHTSA complaint #11308318, filed 2020-02, 20,000 miles

2016: “Have had three different wheel sensors go out causing engine to go into limp mode resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Most mercedes dealers cannot do this service. This is a dangerous fault that many have experienced and is a serious road safety hazard. In all instances I was driving vehicle on 'washboard' road conditions; once in I-70 wesrbound from kansas city.”
