“While steering left and right, the power steering seems to intermittently go out, it happens off and on, and you have to hold on tightly to the steering wheel or you will loose control, I took it to the dealer and they tell me it is normal for this truck which I strongly disagreed with them, a new truck or any new car does not just loose steering”
NHTSA complaint #11232288, filed 2019-07, 500 miles“When driving above 40 MPH the steering sticks. It happems while driving into and out of turns. The steering grabs/sticks and has to be forced to correct. Extremely dangerous on our 2 lane roads in hawaii. All of my required recalls have been corrected. This is a new issue. I have been noticing this issue since june 2019.”
NHTSA complaint #11312167, filed 2020-02, 4,000 miles“While driving multiple dashboard warnings appeared and the power steering abruptly failed. Brought into dealer for diagnosis and repair. I was informed by the dealer the problems were corrected, these issues were apparently cased by bad ground connections, as per dealer. Four days later I again had the same problems.”
NHTSA complaint #11364006, filed 2020-10, 13,500 miles“Steering make loud noise when turning stationary and moving and vibrates steering wheel. I have taken to dealer 3 times and they confirmed problem. Stated they are waiting on Ram to get fix. It has been over 5 months and engineering does not come up with fix. I have complained to national Ram to no help.”
NHTSA complaint #11361734, filed 2020-09, 10,000 miles“While driving my steering locked up and I had a notification on my dash cluster that said power steering was temporarily unavailable and required service. It took me about an hour to get the truck to where I could move it. If I would have been driving fast, this could have really hurt or killed someone.”
