“Was driving down road on 8/22/2015 turned corner heard loud pop and truck slid sideways into gaurd rail. I get out and see my shock wedged up in frame. Noticed lots of frame rust and shock support completely rusted away. My whole familly has the 02 to 06 chevy pickups and it seems there frames are atleast twice as thick (measuring in the non rusted sections). Now I need to find a new vehicle and thats all thats wrong with my truck. I wish chevy would do something for us chevy guys”

“I have a 2000 Chevrolet silverado that the service 4 wheel drive light comes on quite frequently when I am driving . I have had it looked at by the dealership I purchased the vehicle from and other auto service centers . They tell me they can not find a problem . I have learned from other truck owners that they have the same problem . I contacted Chevrolet and they say their is no recall . I feel with the number of people I have talked to that their is a problem with the push button electronic 4 wheel drive system . My friend recently purchased a 1999 and his is doing it to . …”

NHTSA complaint #11104975, filed 2018-07, 130,000 miles

“Cracked frame between spring hangers: the framerails broke vertically from bottom flange to diagonal slot at or near neutral axis of both frame rails. The frame rail has large hole in bottom of rail horizontal flange of 'c' shape for accessing bed/box mounting bolts. Crack propagates from this hole to diagonal hole in the vertical web of 'c' shape rail. Overloading should cause the frame to fail from top down not bottom up. …”

NHTSA complaint #10930339, filed 2016-12, 107,000 miles

“First incident replace rusted rear steel brake line $150.00 12/05/2002 76977 miles second incident replace rusted front steel brake line at ABS unit $170.00 7/27/2009 97,733miles luckily I wasn't moving. Why does the manufacturer want to save money at the expense of someone's life.”
