“We were driving down the interstate when the engine shut off. All electrical was on in the car, but the engine turned off. The dash instructed me to press the start button. We were in traffic at the time of the incident with about half full gas tank. I selected neutral and proceeded to start the engine. It started with no issues and was able to be put back in gear. Continued without further issues.”

NHTSA complaint #11447326, filed 2022-01

“The transmission began slipping at 20, 25, 35, and 45 mph by the time we hit 80k miles. The vehicle was out of warranty. We were told it was unaffected by the recalls and not related to the issues affecting other drivers. It now has 167k miles and we have tried having the transmission flushed but it still slips and needs a new transmission. Chevy knows about these issues and refuses to replace their horrible product since they also sell the cure to the problem and make money off of it.”

NHTSA complaint #11756422, filed 2026-08

“Driving my vehicle on the interstate at 70mph when the transmission made a hard downshift and brought my wife, two children, an infant and toddler, and I to a very sudden 40mph.Before I was able to find a shoulder to pull over the transmission fluid overheated and vehicle would no longer change gears. I then towed it to the dealership where purchased originally. Vehicle was then towed to and diagnosed at a Chevrolet dealership where ultimately resulted in a valve body and clutch failure.”

NHTSA complaint #11772834, filed 2026-10

“2022 Chevy Tahoe went into limp mode at 62,500 miles out of the blue and check engine light came on. At the certified Chevy dealership I was told it was the transmission control valve, Code P2732, which is a known widespread factory issue in these models. Upon further inspection, was told my transmission fluid was completely black and burned and it ruined the transmission and therefore it needs to be replaced. Consequential Damage Policy: When a control valve body fails and stays stuck on, it forces maximum line pressure through the system. …”

NHTSA complaint #11755417, filed 2026-08

“I had the car in for a message (service transmission now will not be able to shift soon). They told me there was nothing wrong with my transmission it was a parking brake sensor issue. They ordered me a new sensor and never called to tell me it was in. I followed up and they said they had the part and I could come in whenever. They said it was not a safety issue and would be a quick fix. I had an appt today and to my surprise when I went to drive to the appt my car will not let me shift out of park with a new message (service transmission, unable to shift). …”
