“I was driving our Town And Country van on the interstate and was going to change lanes to my left. The blind spot detection did not come on to warn me that a car was there. Almost hit the other car. This has happened many times since. On 9-27-1014 driving out of the driveway at our house the blind spot detection did not pick up the garbage can on the side of the drive and hit the can causing $ 361.53 of damage. Told Chrysler but they said no recalls for this. Now the blind spot system is not working at all and the dash is dinging all the time. …”

NHTSA complaint #10693594, filed 2015-03, 24,000 miles

“Blind spot monitoring system illuminates constantly. System has failed and can not detect vehicles in the blind spot. Unable to turn off system unless paying for costly repair. Lights and chimes are distracting to the driver and could result in unnecessary avoidance maneuvers.”

NHTSA complaint #10676550, filed 2015-01, 48,000 miles

“All safety features suddenly stopped working. The blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, park assist, rear view camera, and compass all stopped. I was told this is from driving the car in the winter! Apparently, there are two modules located behind the bumper that have corroded severely. The snow and salt is thrown off the tires directly on these integrated units that are not sealed sufficiently and so the units corrode and fail. This is absolutely a design failure. These critical units that run all safety equipment should not be placed so carelessly and not properly protected. …”

NHTSA complaint #10579207, filed 2014-04, 56,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town And Country. While driving at an unknown speed, a fuel odor emitted from the vehicle without warning. Prior to the fuel odor, the air conditioner became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear evaporator condenser needed to be replaced.
