“When accelerating, you can feel the drivers and/or passenger front seat shift backward. When stopping, you can feel the drivers and/or passenger front seat shift forward. I have questioned this at the dealership without resolution. I can't find anything that will allow me to tighten down the seats. I don't feel this extra play in the seat is safe in the event of a wreck.”
NHTSA complaint #11202740, filed 2019-04, 67,000 miles“We have had a problem with our Ford EDGE going into limp mode while driving. Luckily it has been at low speeds so we were able to pull over and turn off vehicle. Il when this problem happens, it idles very roughly and it like it loses its mind. You cannot accelerate and a wrench pops up on the dash. When you turn off vehicle and turn it back on, it's fine.”
NHTSA complaint #10700964, filed 2015-03, 26,000 miles“On june 24, 2015 the dealership service department had to replace the seat track on the drivers side. It was stuck in the up position and would grind when you tried to move it with the power switch. Now 2/1/2018 the drivers side seat is not secure and it rocks when you accelerate and braking. Ford service department informed me today that the track needs to be replaced again. Cost to me would be $1,640.00. A quick scan of the Ford EDGE forum indicated at least 18 reports of the same problem. To me this is a serious safety concern and should be fixed by the Ford motor company. …”
NHTSA complaint #11066476, filed 2018-02, 78,000 miles“The head rests on the new Ford EDGE that I recently purchased are so large and lean so far forward that they make it very uncomfortable and dangerous to drive. They are so bad that some owners of new Ford products are just removing the head rests creating a real safety hazard . I have contacted Ford several times with out satisfaction. Our local police department has remove the head rests from ther new expolorer. Do we wait until someone get hurt or killed or do we take a very hard look at them now? I have tried to reverse mine but then you just as well remove them. …”
