“I have a 2013 Ford EDGE se with driver door issue of not locking even if door is shut. Door chime comes on letting me know that the door is not shut even though it is. If the door is not registering with the module saying it is shut what impact with this have on the air bags going off when needed.”

NHTSA complaint #10649343, filed 2014-10, 37,800 miles

“This is a 2013 Ford EDGE limited. It has 13,000 miles and is 15 months old. This vehicle has a myford touch screen and system. This system has been giving us problems since we got the EDGE. On september 17, 2013 my wife was stopped in a parking lot trying to get the myford touch system to make a call from her cell phone. This cell phone has been paired to the myford touch system since day 1 but refused to recognize the phone to make a call. She was touching the screen to make the call and the screen cracked. The systems that are part of the screen will not work now due to the cracked screen. …”

NHTSA complaint #10546089, filed 2013-09, 13,000 miles

“Driver's side door sensor indicates door ajar, preventing other functions of the vehicle from operating normally, such as dome light turning off while driving and after locking doors, doors will not remain locked while driving and other related functions. Issues causes a drain on the battery until it eventually loses charge, leaving driver stranded. Door ajar indicator remains on the entire time during operation of the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10735039, filed 2015-07, 59,000 miles

“Opening/closing driver side door; driver door ajar light stays on when door is closed which leaves on interior lights after exiting the vehicle. It has started to occur more often within the last month, approx 85,000 miles. When the driver ajar light is on my door locks will not engage/initiate during driving like they should normally do. Contacted used car dealer and they suggest the charge to fix can range from 195.00-450.00, depending on the issue, sensor replacement etc.....”

NHTSA complaint #10948903, filed 2017-02, 85,000 miles

“Driver door switch not letting module know the door is closed. Door would have to be opened and closed multiple time before module or switch would pick it up. What affect will this have on the air bags if I need them?”
