“The tire jack is unstable for the vehicle. I have had mine collapse and not tall enough for the vehicle. I watched a man almost get pinned by a jack failure on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Mine is a 2007. Does anyone check this equipment.”

NHTSA complaint #10363853, filed 2010-11, 22,000 miles

“Today while driving on a highway at approximately 35-40mph my vehicle stalled. I had come to a complete stop and was awaiting a traffic light change. When the light changed and I stepped on the accelerator the vehicle began to hesitate and jerk and the esp/bas light, malfunction indicator light (check engine) and a message stating transmission over temp came on. I was in the left lane and immediately put on my flashers. The driver behind realized that I was in trouble and put on his as well. After I was able to roll to the shoulder, I immediately turned the vehicle off. …”

NHTSA complaint #10297625, filed 2009-12, 33,999 miles

“The contact owns a 2007 Jeep cherokee. The contact stated that the air condenser, located below the center of the bumper, has a very large opening. The large opening allowed a rock or some other foreign large particle to puncture the air condenser. As a result, the air conditioning system failed. The vehicle has not been repaired because the failure was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer has not provided any assistance. The contact has pictures of the failed component. The failure and current mileages were 13,000.”
