“Lst year our transmission began to make clunking sounds and felt like we were getting rear-ended . Local dealer said it was a needed software update on a computer. Did the repair and worked well for a year. Now, it is starting to do that again but not frequently. I am reporting this because there seems to be quite a few other similar complaints about this.”

NHTSA complaint #11413816, filed 2021-04, 42,000 miles

“When accelerating at low speeds the van shifts hard into gear and will not continue to accelerate even though the gas pedal is pressed. If I do not let off the gas when this happens the van will lunge forward. This happens in all conditions and on all road types. I have taken it to the dealership and they said it's fine. I can not replicate this on demand.”

NHTSA complaint #11343950, filed 2020-08, 45,000 miles

“Hard shift while driving at around 15 MPH. It feels like hitting by another car from back. It occurs every time I speed up slowly around 15 MPH. Took it to dealer and dealer told me it was because it is 9 speed transmission and the shift range is narrow, and they can do nothing about it. Very disappointing. And not sure if it will damage transmission.”

NHTSA complaint #11222610, filed 2019-06, 10,000 miles

“I was pulling out into traffic and tried to accelerate and the vehicle wouldnt until I heard and felt an enormous bang from the transmission finally shifting. Had I not had a center lane I wouldve been hit by another vehicle. Dealership stated they can not replicate it so nothing is wrong. Im afraid to drive it especially with my family.”

NHTSA complaint #11221466, filed 2019-06, 17,000 miles

“Multiple times our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has revved up, then stalled. The screen tells the driver to put the car in park. I did, then was able to put it in drive again. Sometimes it completely stalls, other times the RPM increases then the car decelerates and I cannot drive over 20 MPH. This has happened while driving slowly at an intersection as well as driving on a highway.”
