“The sync system quit working. There is a black screen and I am unable to use the backup camera or see the temperature controls for the vehicle. It has been this way for about a month. On my Ford app it shows 2 things that need to be fixed. I called the dealership and they said I have to pay $173 for them to look at it and they show no recalls.”
NHTSA complaint #11350148, filed 2020-08, 124,000 miles“All door sensors needed replacing. The front interface display module needed to be replaced because the hazard lights came on for no reasons and couldn't be turned off. Rear view camera doesn't work. Front hood needs painting from poor clear coat. It took one month for Ford to get the fidm. Numerous recalls but Ford said they don't apply to the Ford EDGE. As a family we have a Ford EDGE, f-150 lariat, escape, explorer and a f-250. This is current and not including all the other vehicles we had from Ford.”
NHTSA complaint #11339705, filed 2020-07, 26,000 miles“My camera has been upside down and or blank or won't show anything half the time and took to the dealer and they said they cant fix it because software issue but Ford has recalled other cars cameras for the same issue. Can't see behind me very well due to camera malfunction almost every time in reverse.”
NHTSA complaint #11686407, filed 2025-09“Rearview camera screen is blank or scrambled 98% of the time. The backup sensor has also stopped working. This does not allow me to utilize the safety features for parking or reversing. This issue has been found in newer models of my vehicle and those are currently being recalled. There is no warning for the rearview camera screen, but sometimes it does say that the camera is not available. This issue has been ongoing for years.”
NHTSA complaint #11523889, filed 2023-05“Rear backup camera is not working telling me to contact ford dealership when I'm backing up and is delayed on showing it I've tried resetting it and it still don't work”
