“The contact owns a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received a recall notification letter for NHTSA campaign number: 13v252000 (trailer hitch). The dealer stated that they could not install the trailer hitch due to corrosion on the frame rails. The failure mileage was 140,000. Updated 09/10/14”
NHTSA complaint #10626630, filed 2014-08, 140,000 miles“I just purchased a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee larado from a gentle man in massachusetts. I was told the vehicle had 52,000 original miles on it. I received an affidavit from the original owner claiming he check the wrong box on the title when he sold it to the gentle man I purchased it from. I was told by him that all I had to do was show the affidavit to the dmv when I transferred the title to my name and they would correct the title. Well needless to so the dmv said the original title said actual miles and that was that. So I titled it to my name and it says 52000 miles not actual miles . …”
