“94 Grand Cherokee. This will be the forth time that I have replaced the fuel pump in my Jeep. Same behavior, stalls without notice while decelerating or letting off the accelerator. If not replaced right away it will not stay started when you first start it for the day. Eventually it will not start at all. I also had to replace the driver side door hinge which came completely off the door. It was making popping noise when opening and shutting of the door. Had it check on several occasions and was told that Jeep had a problem with the doors. Eventually the door fell off. …”

NHTSA complaint #10064053, filed 2004-03, 120,000 miles

“Subject: complaint - 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee recall n45 - rear structure reinforcement --- comments: as owner of a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee being recalled for rear structure reinforcement (installation of a trailer hitch) to protect the fuel tank against leaks and fire or explosion caused by a rear end collision, please be advised that the manufacturer's response to this issue has been unacceptably slow and deficient. I have been on a waiting list for some time at the local Jeep dealer who is unnecessarily delayed waiting for parts (apparently a trailer hitch) to correct this defect. …”

NHTSA complaint #10701396, filed 2015-03, 15 miles

“When making right or left turns it is difficult to steer and the steering wheel becomes stiff. The front end made a noise as if the frame was cracked or broken. An independent shop replaced ball joints, upper and lower. But the problem still occurred. There appeared to be a frame fracture in the frame member which caused the frame member to crack/snap when the steering wheel was turned. The consumer has spent 1500 dollars trying to correct the problem with no success.”

NHTSA complaint #10046666, filed 2004-01, 165,974 miles

“Door hinge on rear passenger door of 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee is separating from door. Nearly one half of the door hinge is breaking away from the door.”

NHTSA complaint #10051231, filed 2003-12, 110,000 miles

“My rear liftgate door hatch when opened fully will not stay up. It falls down all the time and if you are not aware of this it will hit you on your head. You have to hold it up. I have been in contact with chrysler and they claim this is not a warranty issue. The representative informed me it is my responsibility and my problem to repair it. This is a safety issue not a mechanical warranty problem.”
