NHTSA complaint #11278658, filed 2019-11, 10,000 miles

“My vehicle (2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee) was only 1 1/2 years old and was involved in a head on collision. I was driving about 45mph when I was struck by 4-door chevy silverado (driver-to-driver collision) that was attempting to make a left turn on green, so only going about 3-5mph. The truck's steering wheel airbag deployed, but none of my Jeep's did. My Jeep's entire front area was crushed, and driver's side experienced extensive damage as well; resulting in my Jeep being totaled. Everyone at the scene of the accident was shocked that my Jeep's airbags did not deploy. …”

NHTSA complaint #11389986, filed 2021-01, 16,600 miles

“The front panel of the panoramic sunroof exploded into small pieces for no apparent reason. I was driving under 35 mph, on a 2 lane road, in clear, warm weather. I heard a pop , then glass sliding over the roof of the car. In the rear view mirror, I then saw glass falling past the back window. When I stopped to investigate, I found that glass had also fallen down onto the fabric shade, which was thankfully closed. Broken glass falling into the passenger compartment could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle resulting in a collision, as well as causing direct injury to occupants. …”

NHTSA complaint #11481966, filed 2022-08

“The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the passenger’s and driver's sidestep rail was lowering independently. Additionally, the rail on both sides of the vehicle remained in the raised position and failed to lower when the front doors were opened. The contact stated that the failure was occurring when the vehicle was stopped and while the vehicle was being driven. The contact stated there were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. …”

NHTSA complaint #11666125, filed 2025-06, 49,000 miles

“Driving 35-45 mph, heard a loud pop from the top of the vehicle. The glass from the sun roof popped and shattered. It put myself at risk because if the shade slide, that separates the inside of the car and the sunroof glass, was pulled back, the glass would have came in & injured everyone in the car. It also puts others near the vehicle at risk as the glass could have hit someone or another vehicle. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer yet. The the vehicle has not been inspected yet. No warning signs prior to the incident.”
